In the organization of the Association of Urban Planners of Serbia, on November 8, 2022, the traditional Exhibition of Urbanism was held in ČACAK. The Spatial Planning Agency participated in the category “Research, studies and projects in the field of spatial and urban planning” with the paper “The contact zone of the city of Skopje”, worked as a study research for the preparation of the General Urban Plan of the city of Skopje 2022-2032.

The subject of research in this study is the contact zone of the city of Skopje, which houses functions that create symbiosis with the urban fabric, and which includes all the settlements in the Skopje Basin.

The aim of this research is, through a complex and integral treatment of phenomena and processes as spatial phenomena, to define a possible approach in the planning and arrangement of the contact zones as a whole with the city and as a humane environment suitable for living and working of people.

Through an analysis and established goals, the study offers activities to achieve the goals in the planning period.

This paper won the second prize at the 31st Salon of Urbanism in its category.
